Registration Instructions

Open Rowing - Adult Team/Master Rower

Open row sessions are for experienced rowers (i.e., you know how to row, and have rowed for at least a year.  You do NOT have to be a collegiate rower or elite/team member or anything like that.) To participate, you join the club and pay the monthly dues, which cover the coaching launch, coach, boat maintenance, operation costs, etc. NOTE: sign up is REQUIRED on iCrew to attend the Open Rows.

Master Rowers are over the age of 21, defined by age, not skill level.  Register on iCrew as a Master if you are over 18.

  1. Join USRowing as a basic member or above, and complete the annual USRowing waiver:  https://membership.usrowing.org/
  2. Register on iCrew -  link below; Select Rowing on Whidbey; registration code Boathouse; create your iCrew account, and join the Adult team (Adult or Master Rower ): https://icrew.club/signup?fromindex=1
  3. Join the club by paying $100 initiation fee - this can be done directly on iCrew
  4. Do the float test (see below) and submit the paperwork via email - as soon as you can.  The Oak Harbor pool can do these, just call and schedule.
  5. Sign the waivers - club general waiver (coming soon) and COVID waiver (see below) and submit via email.
  6. Upload COVID vaccination form to iCrew (optional)
  7. Take the Safesport class (by USRowing - link to come)
  8. Pay $40 monthly dues on iCrew via the Store (or the checklist) – starting 9/1.
  9. Sign up for the Open Row sessions you want to attend (note that if there aren’t enough people signed up by the night before, sessions are cancelled, so please sign up as we may cancel and then if you show up hoping to row no one will be there as we didn’t know you were coming)
